An A+ Facility

Intex is proud to supply the redevelopment of St Joseph’s College in Echuca, supporting the delivery of a new multipurpose learning centre designed to provide enhanced facilities for students, staff and the wider community.

The $6 million redevelopment, supported by the Victorian Government, forms part of St Joseph’s College’s significant investment in the school’s future. The new facility has been designed to provide flexible spaces for learning, sport, performing arts and community use, including an indoor stadium with two full-size basketball and netball courts, retractable seating, a 246-seat theatrette, performance stage, foyer, kiosk, science and learning spaces, teacher planning areas, change rooms and full amenities.

For St Joseph’s College, the redevelopment represents much more than an investment in infrastructure. As Principal Anne Marie Cairns explains:

“This funding is not just an investment in our school’s infrastructure, but in the future of our students and the local community. It allows us to continue providing the very best educational opportunities and facilities that our students deserve.” (Principal Anne Marie Cairns, Dairy News)

Intex worked alongside GV Plaster throughout the project, supplying the internal metal framing systems and building accessories  required for the redevelopment. Having worked with Intex metal systems across previous projects, GV Plaster selected Intex for the redevelopment, with the framing systems providing a reliable solution for the project’s internal wall and ceiling requirements.

“Our relationship with the National Sales Manager was a key reason we chose Intex for the project. They were always willing to go above and beyond to help us out and we’ve found the stud and track reliable, compliant and good to work with.”- Brad Hason, GV Plaster Director.

The project drew on Intex’s extensive range of metal framing and complementary products, including Acoustic Stud, Stud and Track, Furring Channels, Jamb Studs, Top Hats, Screws, Access Panels, Fire Sealant and Stud Adhesive. This range provided a comprehensive solution across the project’s wall and ceiling requirements.

Intex also provided engineering support to help identify opportunities for cost savings. Working closely with the project team, the Engineering Team reviewed the framing requirements and proposed practical solutions that maintained the required performance while improving overall project efficiency and value.

Backed by Independent testing laboratories, Intex metal systems can be specified and used on projects of this scale with confidence.

St Joseph’s College has a long history of providing education and opportunity to the Echuca community and this redevelopment represents another significant step forward, creating spaces where students can learn, perform and connect. Intex is proud to have contributed the wall and ceiling systems to a facility designed to support the school and its wider community for years to come.
